Fancy being part of the media140 Australia team? We’re on the look out for a part-time event and community manager to help us develop our Australian community. Over the next 12 months we want to grow our presence in Sydney and Melbourne through meetups, events and other fun stuff – and we need your help!
You’ll need to be passionate about the web, technology and people – love bringing people together to inspire, educate and wow them. And of course be based in Sydney and/or Melbourne, have an active social media presence and have experience of running great events.
We’ll be expecting you to
- Support the organisation of local events and meetups in Sydney and Melbourne – finding speakers, liaising with venues and working with local hosts.
- Help develop cutting edge editorial themes to address the needs of the local Australian media, technology and business communities.
- Do a little blogging to help raise awareness about our activities in Australia including inviting guest bloggers to contribute where appropriate.
- Use social media to help keep things lively and relevant across our Twitter, Facebook, AudioBoo, Instagram presence.
- Maintain and grow some of the relationships we have with the mainstream media organisations in Sydney – helping to get the word out about cool stuff we are doing. As well as developing new media contacts to help grow the brand
- Contribute to the newsletters we send to our community
- Work with other members of the media140 team in Australia, Spain and UK – helping to grow what we do in a consistent with a joined up philosophy.
In a nutshell we need someone who is a juggler and multi-tasker, well organized, creative, independent, a natural communicator with a positive and enthusiastic outlook.
The role is only part-time with a maximum of 20 hours per week and would suit someone who is able to work flexible hours with occasional travel to Sydney and Melbourne. Salary is negotiable, but will include an element of revenue share from the events.
