media140 Oz Politics

media140 #OzPolitics is a one day Canberra conference planned to explore the way the real time web is transforming (or not!) politics in an election year. Speakers will come from the ranks of party politics; the Canberra Press Gallery; the Blogosphere; public relations; academia; and lobby groups.

Through interactive panels and keynote addresses they will attempt to map the way the arena is changing – in real time – under the influence of social media, with a focus on the ways in which politicians,citizens and the media are using the real time web during “election season”.

Apart from influential and cutting edge Australian speakers, we will hear case studies on the Social Media activation of the #UKelection and President Obama’s real time web election strategy.
